Considering the only Nintendo console my family has or I have owned was a Game Boy Color, I have very rarely played Mario Party or Mario Kart games. Having acquired a Nintendo Switch 2, however, one of my friends gave me their Nintendo Switch. This was so that I could play Mario Kart 8 with six of my friends to celebrate another friend’s birthday.
That’s how I learned how many of Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth‘s minigames are rip offs of Mario Kart games. That just makes them seem even more pointless to put in a Final Fantasy game. If I wanted to play Mario Kart, I would have just played Mario Kart!
